Jeré D. Reid

Jeré Reid is a woman of many titles and talents, all of which relate to her purpose of nurturing the mind, body and spirit.

From a early age, she knew that she was born to teach, inspire and empower and quickly grew in this gifting through the development of her ministry of song, mentoring, writing and through her profession as an educator.

Graduating from the University of Central Florida with a bachelors in Secondary Education, Jeré started her journey of more than 10 years as a educator in the Central Florida Public School System. Although she loved the daily opportunity to impact the lives of her students, she felt the intense calling to do more. Jeré describes, "I realized that my favorite moments as an educator did not involve test scores, historical content, and bechmarks; my favorite moments came from the times I empowered my students to end an unhealthy relationship, change their negative views of themselves, chase dreams, believe in themselves, celebrate their success, and when I helped them accomplish goals... that was the moment I realized that I was created to empower and motivate beyond the constraints of the classroom, that day I discovered my purpose!"

After a nationwide search, Jeré received the amazing opportunity to truly motivate and empower women when she was chosen to be a My Black is Beautiful Ambassador. This Proctor & Gamble sponsored organization is designed to empower and motivate Black Women and young African American girls. Through her work as an ambassador, Jeré has appeared in numerous publications including, O, The Oprah Magazine, EBONY, Essence, Uptown Magazine, and Sister to Sister.

In regards to her purpose in life, Jeré states; "As women, we are constantly bombarded with images of beauty that contradict the unique and real beauty of ourselves… if I can remind one young girl or woman of her beauty, I am living in my purpose.”

Through her website, Nappturally Chic Jeré, Simply Chic Life, and non-profit organization, Empowered To Bloom, the beauty enthusiast fully embraces her passion of uplifting young girls and women and empowering them to realize their inner glow. Her passion has allowed her to impact countless lives by mentoring a number of young ladies and conducting workshops on natural hair care, self esteem, and empowerment throughout the United States and Canada.

Jeré, who is a child of a God and a music lover, serves as choir director and worship leader at Solid Rock C.O.G. in Kissimmee, Fla., where she ministers through song on a weekly basis. She resides in the Sunshine State with her husband and two adorable daughters.
